Fujitsu Services
eBusiness Co-ordination ManagerTechnical Design Authority (freelance consultant)
London. March 2001 – June 2003
During this assignment I took on two specific roles and was based on-site at the UK Government’s “Department of Trade and Industry” in London.
As “Technical Design Authority”, I was responsible for the technical, architectural and security design of a number of Internet/Intranet services provided to Her Majesty’s Government. I was responsible for formally authorising all new project designs from Fujitsu’s on and off-site project teams.
As “eBusiness co-ordination manager” I was also responsible for co-ordinating all on-going Internet/Intranet based projects from the various government and consultancy teams, including partner Ernst & Young. It was necessary for me to develop a unified strategic approach in order to realise the “eGovernment” directive and to show time and cost savings where possible. I was required to attend and formally report progress to senior government officials.
I was also personally responsible for a detailed technical study into the usage, security implications and the proposed implementation of “web-casting” and the delivery of rich-media streaming to government desktops. I also managed the implementation of digital signatures for senior government personnel (cabinet office).
For this position it was necessary for me to undergo and qualify for Government Security Clearance (level CS1).
