Music

Throughout my adult life, I've had a passion and fascination for live music. In my younger years, only as a member of the audience. Nowadays, a member of two different bands and getting the adrenaline rush of performing on a regular basis.

Passion for Live Music

I was quite content at home listening to LP's on the "Stereo". That was until; at the age of 17 I saw my favourite British band at the time, XTC, play live at Nottingham's "Assembly Room".

That experience left such an incredible impression on me. The enormous contrast between listening to music at home and watching the same band play live was astonishing. The wall of sound, the lighting, the adrenalin in the crowd and most of all the personalities on stage. Such an experience cannot be captured on vinyl and there started my passion for live music.

Below are a few photographs that I've taken from recent live performances.  How many of the artists or bands do you recognise?

Playing Music

Over the last few years, I've step away from my life-long professional career and away from a stressful and time consuming business life.  This has given me the opportunity to pick up an instrument and get up on stage for myself.  It's a great privilege and thrill for me to be now entertaining others.

I have chosen to play the Bass guitar and to take inspiration from my Bass playing heroes;
 Andy Rourke (RIP) and J.J. Burnel

This photo was take in Oberhaching in 2023 while playing with the band "Mind the GAPP".  Sadly there are very few photo's of me performing, and those which I have been sent are of poor quality.
